The HSSC Board had a meeting on Tuesday, March 18 to discuss and plan some events for this year.
April 19th and 20th: members are participating in the conformation show in Mason City, Iowa.
There are numerous events during the summer and fall months. Since some people are opting out of Face Book, we’ll start using the website more frequently with notifications, photos and calendars.
There is a Fast Cat event at Washington County Fairgrounds in Stillwater on May 16, 17, 18 hosted by St. Croix Valley Kennel Club. I know there are several people interested in running their dogs in this event so I’m planning a club meeting with a potluck picnic on Saturday, the 17th. If you’re interested in entering your dog in this event, the superintendent is Mike Teh and his website is XtremeK9.com. There is a premium with entry forms there for entering. We can also participate in volunteering for this event in order for them to actually let us use the grounds with them. We need to accomplish several things during this meeting. Think about Officers and Board Members for next year, what events you would like to see happen. We have a suggestion and design for enhancing our logo, so we want to vote on that. I’m including a photo at the end of this memo.
HSSC specialty will be Friday, August 22 at Washington County Fairgrounds where it always is every year. This year we will also have Obedience and Rally in one of the buildings. Karen Anderson from North Branch will be judging. There will be a picnic following judging right new the standard schnauzer ring. We will provide the main dish and ask members to bring some side dishes.
If anyone knows people who have standard schnauzers or a new pup, please invite them to join us. New members bring new, fresh and creative ideas.
